The South Coastal District has been privileged to have had a partnership with World Hope International. There is no way we could over estimate the value of World Hope’s ministry when Katrina hit our gulf coast area. World Hope has poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into our region and hundreds of thousands of man hours. Most recently World Hope was involved in assisting after a tornado hit Americus, GA.
In the past World Hope has been our first call when a disaster strikes our district area. However, for the past few years World Hope has encouraged each district to develop its own response team. This is a district ministry whose time has come!
We have decided that now is the time to step up and start our own district disaster relief team. We have men and women on our district whose hearts are aligned with this compassion ministry. We already have found support from among both our larger and smaller churches.
We have already starting recruiting a Leadership Team (4), a First Responders Team (12) and Disaster Relief Team of over 100 men and women from across our broader base of our 40 churches. By a generous donation we have already ordered a new disaster relief trailer that will provide resources for the First Responders Team. We are well on our way!
